ReadVerify.com - What is it and how does it work?

What is ReadVerify?

ReadVerify is the original tracking service of its kind, and remains the most powerful and reliable email and document tracking service in the world today. In short - ReadVerify tells you when your tracked emails and documents are opened / re-opened / forwarded and so much more

How do I send a tracked email?

First make sure you are registered with either a Free Trial or Subscription

There are four ways you can send tracked emails:

  1. Gmail/Google App: Add our free Workspace App to your email compose page (works on your phone and your browser). Just click our new icon before sending!

  2. HotMail/Outlook App: Add our free OfficeJS App to your email compose page (works on your phone, your browser, and inside your Outlook program). Just click our new icon before sending!

  3. Manually: Compose your email as usual in your own email program --> type:   .readverify.com   on the end of your recipients email address (they won't see this) eg; drakecn@yahoo.com.readverify.com --> send the email.

  4. Automatically: Paid subscribers can install our optional ActiveTracker app which adds the tracking automatically as you send your emails.

Testing? Don't send tracked emails to yourself! They likely won't track (ReadVerify provides tracking for your outgoing emails) and they might even end up in your junk folder because your filters thought they were 'spoofed'. So, send your tests to someone who does not use the same computer as you.

What happens next?

Once you have sent a tracked email you can log in to your ReadVerify account to see the status of it. You will also receive a ReadNotification via email when your tracked email (or document) has been opened.

ReadVerify will endeavour to provide the following in your tracking reports:

  • Complete delivery details
  • Date and time opened
  • Approximate geographic location of recipient
  • Map of location (available on paid subscriptions)
  • Recipients IP address
  • Referrer details (ie; if accessed via web email account etc)
  • URL clicks
  • How long the email was read for
  • How many times your email was opened
  • If your email was opened on a different computer (such as forwarded)
All messages sent via ReadVerify benefit from our SPF compliant and Sender-ID compliant mail servers. This confirms safe transmission of your messages, and also enables us to report delivery status to you (including: bounce-backs, delays and success notifications). Delivery information is listed in your Personal Tracking Page.

Try hovering your mouse over the sections in our Live Sample Receipt for more information.
